Where are these days coming from?
I have another day off. How do you forget how many vacation/personal days you have left once November hits. I realized that I had around 5 days to plan around November to plan. We are not allowed to roll our days over unless someone approves it. Which I guess is a good thing. At my last job with Ohio Casualty people rolled weeks over to the next year that they did not use. We are alloted that time so why don't people take it. I think that I am a little too giving to my employer. I work very hard and I have learned to take the day off and not worry about it.
Last week was month end for our company. For those that don't know every month we are to get every piece of new business and renewals billed into our system. We are training two new employees and one of my department co-workers did not get a 500K account billed. Our boss boss ran the numbers at one point and he was so high. Then the next day it dropped like crazy. We billed what we could. Come to find out our big boss get commission if he meets a certain number every month. I don't think we are suppose to know this, but now we do. That totally pisses me off. We don't see this money. We get a stupid fuckin afternoon christmas lunch. We get a half day, but we have not been made aware if there is going to be one this year. I'd rather see a bonus...:)...He gets one....We all work hard and I think we all deserve a little encouragement.
The Christmas party sucked last year. Our company is so divided between the underwriters and policy services. Both departments were on opposite sides of the room. They could give a rats ass about us. On the positive side, I probably know more than our underwriters know. Which is a big benefit to me if I would ever leave. I just go to work and get paid for what I know how to do. I come home and forget about work. Except right now b/c I am writing in my blog and it the title is The daily life of an Unruh.
Feliz Navidad.

Ya, I think you should get a bonus other than a dinner. A dinner is just a given. Bonuses should be based on performance.
